Dornier's Do 17 "Flying
Pencil" earned it's nickname honestly.
Though the Do 217 looked very much
like it's older brothers, it was an entirely redesigned, larger
aircraft with bigger engines and an increased bomb load.
The
Do217E entered combat in late 1940 and was soon converted into a
number of versions including a night fighter and air to ground
missile launcher. |
