Lockheed P2 Neptune
The Lockheed P-2 was built for the Navy.  Developed during World War II, it's primary mission was anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and it secondary mission was aerial mining. It entered service in 1947 and was produced for almost thirty years.  They were sold to Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, and the UK.  The US Navy even outfitted some with skis for use in Antarctic and Arctic; these used a unique system in which the cargo was carried in a specially designed module that was fitted into the bomb bay of the aircraft. When inserted, the module became the bottom of the aircraft's fuselage.
In the Vietnam War they were used for coastal patrols and as gunships. The Argentine navy used two Neptunes to search for British Task Force during the Falklands Warl one guided in the Etendard attack that sank HMS Sheffield.  All Neptunes were retired during the 1980s except for Japan's more modern force of locally built P-2Js.
